After a flurry of high profile cast members leaving AMC’s popular show ‘The Good Doctor‘, there’s news that another series regular is leaving the show. The actor who will soon bid goodbye to the series is Osvaldo Benavides, who plays Dr. Mateo Rendón Osma in the new The Good Doctor Season 5 of the show. The character was introduced in the finale of Season 4, and was made a series regular for the new season. He was shown to be romantically involved with Dr Audrey Lim (Christina Chang) on the show.
Fans have expressed their surprise at the exit of the actor so soon after his recent entry in the show. Sony Pictures Television, creators of the show, and its broadcast network AMC have not revealed any reason for the actor’s sudden departure, nor have they declared when he will exit from the show.
Several prominent cast members have left the show in its four-season run. They are Chuku Modu (Dr. Jared Kalu), Beau Garrett (Jessica Preston), Tamlyn Tomita (Allegra Aoki), Nicholas Gonzalez (Dr. Neil Melendez) and Antonia Thomas (Dr. Claire Browne). Noah Galvin and Bria Samoné were added to the show as series regulars from Season 4 onwards.
