Amid controversies for the change of the country’s name from India to Bharat, Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film got its title changed.
The film was previously named ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Indian Rescue’ but now it has been announced that the name of the movie will be ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’. A poster for the film has been released too, with the new title on it.
The film was directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and tells the story of late Shri Jaswant Singh Gill, the main protagonist of the Raniganj rescue operation of trapped workers in coal mines in November 1989. A coal mine in Raniganj was flooded with water and the exits were blocked. The workers kf the mine were trapped and there was a possibility of fatal injuries. But Jaswant Singh resiliently worked out a plan to evacuate the workers safely to the outside. His valor and the unique story indeed deserves a movie of its own.
The movie stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role and has Parineeti Chopra as the female lead opposite him. It also has actors like Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Sharma, Virendra Saxena, Shishir Sharma, Ananth Mahadevan, Jameel Khan, Sudhir Pandey, Bachan Pachera, Mukesh Bhatt, Omkar Das Manikpuri in major roles.
A motion poster for the movie has been released too, where Akshay Kumar is seen with a ‘Pagdi’ in the attire of a sikh and only his backside is visible, while he faces a crowd of afraid workers in front of him.
