Voot Select has dropped the trailer of its next web series ‘The Great Weddings Of Munnes’ and it’s one hilarious ride of an unlucky groom’s search for a bride. Created by ‘Dream Girl’ filmmaker Raaj Shandilya, ‘The Great Weddings of Munnes’ will premiere only on Voot Select on 4th August, 2022.
The trailer begins with Munnes Kumar Yadav (Abhishek Banerjee) and his parents facing marriage proposal rejections from every prospective girl they meet. Disheartened with his bad luck, a ray of hope arrives in the form of a beautiful girl Mahi (Barkha Singh).
Happy with her arrival in Munnes’ life, his parents start believing that’s his bad luck will finally be over. Things progress soon and families start talking about their marriage with the only condition that their kundli should match.
Everything was going smoothly until the marriage gets interrupted in the mandap by a priest who says that Mahi and Munnes’ marriage would work only when Munnes marries another girl first and breaks it off.
And thus begins the search for a new bride for Munnes and they happen to find not only one but two such proposals. But then begins a chain of events full of horror, comedy, drama, romance and a lot more fun. Will Munnes and Mahi find a suitable bride or will it all turn into a nightmare?
‘The Great Weddings of Munnes’ follows the story of Yadav family who is looking for a wife for their son Munnes and his bride Mahi. The Voot Select original series stars Abhishek Banerjee (‘Mirzapur’, ‘Paatal Lok’), Barkha Singh (‘Silence… Can You Hear It?’, ‘36 Farmhouse’), Aakash Dabhade (‘3 Idiots’, Ferrari Ki Sawaari’), Sunita Rajwar (‘Gullak’, ‘Panchayat’), Paresh Ganatra, Sunil Chitkara and Chetan Sharma among others.
Creator Raaj Shandilya also serves as the producer for ‘The Great Weddings of Munnes’ through his ThinkInk Picturez Limited. ‘The Great Weddings of Munnes’ is presented by Jio Studios and will premiere exclusively on Voot Select on 4th August, 2022.
