The Irishman snags 14 nominations at Critics Choice Awards 2020, Marriage Story 8, Fleabag 4

Nominations for the Critics Choice Awards 2020 were announced last night, and it comes as no surprise that Netflix’s The Irishman leads in the number of nominations.

It has garnered 14 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor for Robert De Niro, and Best Supporting Actor for Joe Pesci and Al Pacino.

Marriage Story getting nominated for 8 awards is also hardly a surprise, considering it is one of the most well-received movies on OTT this year. It has been nominated for Best Picture, Director, Screenplay, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actress, among others.

Netflix’s When They See Us won 6 nominations in the TV series category, and The Crown won 4. Netflix snagged 61 nominations in all.

Amazon Prime Video’s popular shows, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel and Fleabag won 3 and 4 nominations respectively.

It’s truly been a wonderful year for Netflix, which has been riding high on the back of some great shows and movies this year.

Now, waiting for the actual awards to see who wins and who doesn’t.
