Keeping up with the Kardashians has finally come to an end after 20 seasons as it showed us intimate details about what was going on in the Kardashian clan, but it looks like the streaming giant Hulu is picking up on their success and has offered them an exclusive deal.
While we do not want to get into an argument about the pros and cons of this show, one has to accept the fact that reality TV stars are also coming through the ranks as channels as well as OTT platforms are trying to cash in on the hype that surrounds them.
According to OK magazine Kris Jenner has roped in a humongous deal which was is much higher than the 150 million dollars that they were getting at E! where the original Keeping up with the Kardashians aired first.
They say that there is nothing such as bad publicity and it looks like Hulu is banking upon the crazy fan following of the Kardashians to grow their platform and rake in the viewing numbers. Even though quite a few people may not like or approve of it, controversy is the easiest thing to sell in showbusiness which is also the reason why you see some of the biggest Bollywood stars host reality shows in India too.
Shows like Big Boss have got a huge fan following, and MX Player’s Fame House tried something of a similar concept with the top content creators of the nation being forced to live together and shoot videos. While this deal will definitely have a significant impact on the OTT industry we still have to see if the people continue to gravitate towards this kind of content.
