India is ready to host the 53rd edition of “International Film Festival Of India”. The highly prestigious film festival has always been a mine of great cinema and so is expected this time.
From the 20th to the 28th of November, IFFI will be held in Goa.
Regardless, a total of 15 films will be screened at the festival. It includes 12 foreign movies and 3 Indian films. The ratio is quite a turn-off because we were expecting more Indian titles that would give exposure to an international audience.
Regardless, the event has revealed all the titles. The festival will open with an Austrian movie called “Alma & Oskar”.
The rest of them are “Perfect Number,” “Red Shoes,” “A Minor,” “No End,” “Mediterranean Fever,” “When the Waves Are Gone,” “I Have Electric Dreams,” “Cold as Marble,” “Seven Dogs,” “Maarya: The Ocean Angel,” “Nezouh” and “The Line.”
While the Indian slate includes “The Storyteller” and “Kurangu Pedal” apart from The Kashmir Files.
There would also be several masterclasses from the maestros such as Vijayendra Prasad and Mani Ratnam.
Special sessions with Shekhar Kapur, Kabir Khan, Aanand L. Rai, R. Balki, Gauri Shinde, and Luv Ranjan, actors Asha Parekh and Shefali Shah will also grace the festival.
Overall, the public emotion for The Kashmir Files is not only polarising but also strong. So let’s see whether the movie manages to bag the award.
