‘The Last Color’ is directed by celebrity chef Vikas Khanna and has made its name through various awards and film festivals. It is adapted from his own book of the same name that came out in 2018. But Noor and all other widows are not allowed to take part in the festival of Holi.
The film is inspired from a real incident when thousands of widows in Varanasi and Vrindavan broke the century old custom by playing Holi for the first time. The festival of colors is a metaphor for freedom from all social boundaries and celebrating life. It is also a film about keeping promises.
