The Last of Us Season 2: Top 5 Characters To Look Out For

The Last of Us Season 2: Top 5 Characters To Look Out For

The second season of HBO’s The Last of Us will have new characters from The Last of Us Part II video game. This scenario allows the show’s creators, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, to expand Season 1’s storyline into Season 2. Fans want to know how the sophomore entry will be approached, considering that Season 1’s storyline remained consistent with its source material.

The Last of Us Part II is more emotional and hard-hitting than the first game. However, the former gaming entry is quite controversial as well. Mazin and Druckmann need to treat Season 2 with utmost respect and care.

Several new characters will be introduced in the upcoming season. And they are the ones who can make Season 2 a wonderful watching experience.

Yara

Like Part II, Season 2 will revolve around three primary factions: Abby’s faction, Ellie’s friends, and the Seraphites (a religious cult). Members of the last group hate Abby’s team. The Seraphites are considered one of the most dangerous factions in the world of ‘The Last of Us’. Yara is a former Seraphite who later befriends Abby to support her brother, Lev.

Lev

Lev is Yara’s brother. The siblings were thrown out of the Seraphites after Lev (born as Lily) transitioned into a male. He forms quite a unique and emotional connection with Abby in Part II. We should expect their bond to be explored in the forthcoming season.

Dina

Dina becomes Ellie’s girlfriend in the second game. The former is an orphan who has learned how to survive on her own. She is also Jewish. Dina plays an important role in Ellie’s arc in the second game. Her inclusion in Season 2 makes the show more interesting. This scenario also guarantees that the second entry will explore LGBTQ+ themes as well.

Jesse

Jesse is Dina’s ex and later becomes a good friend of Ellie. What makes him instantly likeable in Part II is his kind and caring nature. He does not have any problem seeing her ex having a romantic relationship with Ellie. However, things change dramatically after Dina gets pregnant with his child.

Abby

Abby is one of the most important and controversial characters in The Last of Us Part II. She is portrayed as an individual who has been consumed by vengeance. Joel murdered her father, who was a surgeon working for the Firefly group, to save Ellie. This scenario forces Abby to seek revenge from Joel for her father’s death.

The Last of Us Season 2 is expected to come out in early 2025. Stream all episodes of the show on Jio Cinema. Stay tuned for more updates.
