The Last of Us is one of the major shows from HBO. While it received a very high viewership on HBO, Disney+Hotstar and other channels even the critical appreciation was just too high.
So, there is a new update for the second season. It will be shorter but more intense. Showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have confirmed that Season 2 will consist of only seven episodes, compared to the ten in Season 1.
The reason for this? The story of “The Last of Us Part II”, which Season 2 will adapt, is simply much bigger and more complex than the first game.
“We’re taking our time to tell the story properly,” explains the makers. “We want to do justice to the characters and the world we’ve created. But this means that Season 2 will be a natural breakpoint, leaving us with a story that will likely require multiple more seasons to complete.”
He even suggests that Season 3 might be significantly larger than Season 2 and that a Season 4 could be necessary to fully explore the remaining story.
So, it is now officially confirmed that there is going to be a minimum of 4 seasons of the hit show.
“The Last of Us” fans will be treated to the show’s return in 2025. Let’s see what kind of magic the second season creates.
