‘The Last Of Us‘, a video game loved by many, will be adapted into a television series with the same name.
The game is about a man hired for saving a quarantined 14 year old girl and taking her back to her safe haven. The story progresses and they both have to depend on each other through horrible and unimaginable situations. The survival drama is already creating a hype as there is a pre-existing fandom of the video game with the same story. Audiences will hopefully love to watch the adaptation, where there is less involvement and it can be viewed for the sake of pure entertainment. There are glimpses of the dark world in the future earth and the cinematography is top-notch. It is a common thing about all survival thrillers that they are usually visually stunning. The wonderful background music is given by Gustavo Santaolalla, the one who has already given the music for the two parts of the video game. For the fans, it will be something to return for.
The pilot episode will be directed by Kanemir Balagov and other episodes by Ali Abbasi, Zasmila Žbanić, Peter Hoar, Jeremy Webb and few others. The show stars Pedro Pascal from ‘The Mandalorian’, Bella Ramsey from ‘Game Of Thrones’, Gabriel Luna and a few other actors. The elegant team gives hope that the show will be equally satisfying as the game. Neil Druckmann, the co-president of the game studio ‘Naughty Dog’ that created the widely loved video game will be the co-creator and executive producer of the series. Therefore there is a possibility that there will be an astounding similarity between the original and the adaptation.
The show is all set to stream in 2023 and it will be available on HBO. There is an excitement about survival and adventure thrillers around the world including India and there will be a huge audience waiting eagerly for dedicated shows like this. There is still a doubt whether the show can be elevated upto the level of the fans’ expectation.
