The Lost Daughter will debut on Netflix India on 31st December. It is a psychological drama based on a novel of the same name by Elena Ferrante.
It is based on a woman called Leda. She is a professor and translator who is spending her holidays in Greece. But as soon as she steps her foot in Greece, things start to change.
Leda wants to spend the same stereotyped to holiday by swimming, reading books and taking sound sleep. She is not a very social woman and doesn’t like much interaction. During her vacation, a very loud family also so come to enjoy their holidays. Leda tries to observe all of them and she gets attracted to a young woman.
She is in her bikini and is played by Dakota Johnson. She is the same who was the leading actress of the fifty shades series. Regardless, she is highly intense in observing her.
What happens next is too precious to reveal. The film is directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal who happens to be the sister of the famous actor Jake Gyllenhaal. It is her debut film and an amazing one.
This is such a well-directed film that it leaves an everlasting impact on the viewers. The performances are absolutely great and are definitely a worthy watch.
