The Mandalorian and Grogu Have Butchered the Boba Fett Series

The Book of Boba Fett series is currently streaming on the Disney+ service. Or should we change its name to ‘The Book of Mando and side character Boba Fett’? What was the true purpose of bestowing so much importance to Mando in a series that never really belonged to him in the first place? Yes, a small cameo appearance would have worked here. But dedicating the entire fifth episode and a majority of the last episode to Din Djarin doesn’t make any sense.

There is no doubt in admitting that Star Wars fans love Mando. The character of Din Djarin with the traditional Mandalorian suit has received universal love and praises since its live-action debut in the SW franchise. Plus, we have the lovely Grogu with us. His innocence and immense cuteness are enough to win the hearts of people. We hope you have not forgotten how the ‘Baby Yoda fever’ devoured social media some time ago. He ‘literally’ carried the series on his little shoulders at some moments. And a similar situation is happening with Boba Fett.

The first three episodes of the Boba Fett series are the blend of his past life and his present rule as the Daimyo of Tatooine. They showed his escape from the infamous Sarlacc pit after the events of Return of the Jedi, his training under the refuge of Tusken raiders, and his intention to rule Tatooine with honour, something that the former Daimyo, Jabba the Hutt, lacked very much. But it seems like it was not enough for the makers to impress the fanbase.

We know that Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau must have thought for the betterment of the series when they threw The Mandalorian, Grogu, Ahsoka, and Luke Skywalker in the Boba Fett series. Was it bait for luring more viewership towards the show? Or was it just done to improve the show’s plot? Whatever might be the reason behind this scenario. But the inclusion of all these prominent SW characters and the decision of giving them so much screentime has butchered the Boba Fett series for good. Did we feel good after seeing The Mandalorian and Grogu again? Hell yeah! But did this arc take all the spotlight away from Boba Fett? Obviously!

The final episode of The Book of Boba Fett will arrive on February 9 on Disney+. We will witness Temuera Morrison, Ming-Na Wen, Pedro Pascal, and many more in the finale.
