The Mandalorian fame Gina Carano is suing Disney and Lucasfilm for wrongful termination and discrimination. The actress’ contract was terminated in 2021 because of a controversial social media post in which she compared Republicans with Jews during the Holocaust. Elon Musk is reportedly funding this lawsuit.
In her official complaint, Carano alleged that her contract for The Mandalorian (Star Wars) was terminated because she supported right-wing opinions on social media. Furthermore, she wants to seek a court order to force Lucasfilm to recast her.
Elon Musk has made an open call on X (Twitter) for others to become a part of Carano’s lawsuit. The actress wants $75,000 as compensation for the damages.
In a post on X, Carano claims her contract was terminated “because she dared voice her opinions… and stood up to the online bully mob who demanded her compliance with their extreme progressive ideology.” She also thanked her fans and Elon Musk for supporting her.
Former MMA fighter, Gina Carano earned global fame after playing Cara Dune in the first two seasons of The Mandalorian Disney+ series. While working for Lucasfilm, the actress got involved in several online feuds with left-wingers, who accused her of transphobia and racism.
In February 2021, Gina Carano equated the current political climate faced by the Republicans with the Nazis’ treatment of Jews during the Holocaust. This scenario forced Lucasfilm to fire the actress from The Mandalorian. Stay tuned for more updates.
