Fans, once again, have started churning up the Marvel rumour mill, thanks to The Marvels. The upcoming Brie Larson starrer will arrive in theatres worldwide on November 10. With just a few days left of its theatrical release, the film has become a hot topic among diehard MCU fans. One of its latest promotional clips has made many fans believe that it shares a connection with the X-Men.
One of The Marvels’ promotional videos, ‘What Comes Next’, is only 15 seconds long. In that clip, we can see the ‘X’ on the word ‘NEXT’ staying a bit longer than usual. Many fans have connected this scenario with the highly anticipated arrival of the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
What does this mean? Are we going to see the iconic Charles Xavier’s group of superheroes in The Marvels? Or will the forthcoming Nia DaCosta directional lay the foundation for their arrival?
DaCosta addressed this case in a recent with Jake’s Takes. On being asked about the potential Easter Egg, she replied, “I was just like ‘Oh so cheeky, so cheeky’…” Before making this statement, she also talked about her desire to watch a proper Ororo Munroe (Storm) and Scott Summers (Cyclops) storyline on the big screen.
The only way ‘The Marvels’ can tease the X-Men’s MCU debut is through Kamala Khan, aka Ms Marvel. Apart from having extraordinary powers, she also possesses mutant genes in her DNA. The upcoming Marvel feature may foreshadow the X-Men through Kamala Khan’s inclusion. Although, it will be intriguing to see how Marvel connects the dots between Ms Marvel and the X-Men. Stay tuned for more updates.
