The Matrix Resurrections, which is the fourth part of the extremely famous science fiction series, is coming soon. The film will hit the theatres on Christmas occasion i.e. on 22nd December. Keanu Reeves starred series first came into existence back in 1999. The third instalment however came in 2003.
After a long wait of 18 years, the fourth instalment is finally at the door. When the film is just one month away from the theatres, the makers of the film launched 8 new posters. The cast of the film is getting featured on the posters. The posters are being advertised as “Re-Enter the Matrix”.
Thankfully for the Indian audience, a familiar face of Priyanka Chopra is also there. Surprisingly, her screen space is something very doubtful. As looking at her space in the trailer of the film, it is speculated that she will only have a few minutes in the film. Still, Warner Bros launched a dedicated poster for her.
Now, if you remember the epic battle between Marvel and DC, then you observe something interesting in India. Marvel has been way ahead of DC when it comes to popularity or even box office collection. Marvel movies have achieved the humongous 300 crores figure at the Indian Box Office. But probably the most famous DC film, Joker (2019), barely managed to earn a little. A big factor behind this was Marvel movies targeting Indian audiences. They dubbed it into multiple Indian languages apart from releasing it in English. Not only that, they spent a good amount of research and resources to add only very catchy dialogues. They might not be a direct translation from the English version, because they were targeted to add humour and emotion to the Indian audience. DC has been an absolute failure in that. It has never released a film in the languages of India. That stopped a majority of Indians from visiting the theatres as only a small percentage who could understand the American accent could fully grasp the film.
Mind you Warner Bros is the same production house that produces DC films as well as the Matrix series. If they are marketing this film on the shoulders of Priyanka Chopra in India, then it is a clear indication that Warner Bros has finally understood the importance of merging into the Indian masses.
The Matrix series is extremely popular in India, and let’s see if it becomes successful at the Indian Box Office.
