Michael Ende’s famous novel which was published in the German vernacular in 1979 and in English in 1983, follows the story of a young boy who goes by the name Bastian Balthazar Bux, who ends up discovering the world explored in the book, named the magical land of Fantastica. He is the eventual savior of this land, as will be found out as one progresses through the story.
Despite the failure of many prior attempts to resurrect this title, finally, the reputed production house behind several Oscar-winning films, See-Saw Films has now agreed to bring this magical world to life on the big screens in the form of a bunch of live action films.
This is pretty pivotal, considering a lot of production houses were eyeing this franchise to utilise the obvious appeal and fame that comes with this series. Initially, there were a lot of hindrances to bring this fantastical story to fruition, owing to rights and licensing issues with Warner Bros. in the midst of the tussle as well. However, now all of the obstacles have been put to rest, and this lovely story will be playing in cinemas near you, soon enough.
