Diehard OTT enthusiasts might already be aware that streaming giant Netflix has recently launched a website that features weekly top ten lists based on the metrics of the total number of hours viewed for a particular title. The portal provides viewership data under four categories namely ‘Films (English)’, ‘Films (Non-English)’, ‘TV (English)’, and ‘TV (Non-English)’.
Only one Indian show has been able to make it to the Netflix most viewed titles list as per the latest viewership data for the ‘TV (Non-English)’ category. And the show’s name is ‘Aranyak’.
The website further states that ‘Aranyak’ was watched globally for an impressive 10.36 million hours last week, that is, from 13th December to 19th December. Whereas, on the top spot for the most-watched non-English Netflix show is the immensely popular Spanish heist crime series ‘Money Heist: Part 5’, which was watched for a whopping 55.01 million hours the same week.
Other international shows which rank ahead of India’s ‘Aranyak’ include ‘Money Heist: Part 1’, ‘The Queen of Flow’ S1 & S2, the cult Korean title ‘Squid Game’, and ‘The King’s Affection: Season 1’.
‘Aranyak’ boasts of another interesting info as per the website. Besides featuring in the top ten shows list in India, ‘Aranyak’ also ranks amongst the top ten shows in other countries including Bahrain, Bangladesh, Kuwait, Maldives, Oman, Pakistan, Singapore, Qatar, Sri Lanka, UAE, Mauritius, and even in New Zealand.
