The official trailer of ‘The Pope’s Exorcist‘ is out now and it looks stunning. The film is going to hit the theaters on the 14th of April this year.
‘The Pope’s Exorcist’ is directed by Julius Avery and stars Russell Crowe in the lead role. It has actors like Daniel Zovatto, Alex Essoe and Franco Nero in other important roles.
Russell Crowe plays a devoted priest Father Gabriele Amorth who tries to help a little child with exorcism and carries on with many more. He is the chief exorcist of the Vatican and is determined to stop Satan. The priest gets into trouble and he has to answer to higher authorities of church about his actions regarding the cases of exorcism. The film is inspired from Gabrielle’s memoirs An Exorcist Tells His Story and An Exorcist: More Stories. Yes! You guessed right. Gabrielle Amorth is an actual historical figure. Whether his memoirs are true or not is topic of another debate but the trailer is really amazing and it looks like Russell Crowe will again win the hearts of fans with his performance here.
The story is written by Michael Petroni, R. Dean McCreary and Chester Hastings and the screenplay is written by Michael Petroni and Evan Spiliotopoulos. Khalid Mohtaseb has done a tremendous job as the cinematographer and the colour pallette of the film is really good.
Though Horror and exorcism is a cliché in the film industry, but it is Russell Crowe who makes it worth a watch and hopefully the storyline will be impressive too.
