The official trailer for ‘The Promised Land’ is revealed now. It stars Mads Milkelsen in the lead role. Mads Mikkelsem is known for the iconic web series Hannibal where he played the titular character. He has also starred in movies like ‘Dr. Strange’, ‘The Hunt’, ‘Another Round’ etc. The film is slated to make its premiere in the Venice Film Festival. The original name of the movie is ‘Bastarden’ and it is a joint production of Denmark, Sweden and Germany.
The movie is written by Nikolaj Arcel, Anders Thomas Jensen and directed by Nikolaj Arcel. It is adapted from the book ‘The Captain and Ann Barbara’ by Ida Jessen. The movie will tell the story of a captain named Ludvig Kahlen who goes on an adventurous journey to the Danish heaths. He has an almost impossible mission, which is to establish a colony in the name of his king.
The makers have described the film as “a gripping story about the conquest of the heath, the tale of a proud and uncompromising man, and the woman who becomes his ally in the fight against evil, death and perdition.” The trailer is beautiful and the dialogues are very well written. The cinematography and music is par excellence. Rasmus Videbæk has handled the cinematography and Dan Romer has composed the music for the film.
