Some films drop you in an abundance of thoughts. They do not consider the fact that what you have seen is just a film, rather you start finding the parallels in your real life.
The Reader is one such film. It stars Kate Winslet, Ralph David Kross, Ralph Fiennes, and Bruno Ganz.
The concept of the film is controversial at the first glance but as you watch the film and give it a thought, you’ll understand them better.
After the second world war is over, a young woman starts doing the job of bus conductor. She was a member of the Nazi party and has some serious allegations against her. Meanwhile, she is having a physical relationship with a young boy of 15 years old. As the boy becomes older, many things change except his love for the woman. But what happens after her allegations are overhyped and called for punishment?
It is an extremely emotional story and the lead character is layered. You’ll find it troublesome to not think about the situation as it is very thought provoking.
Kate Winslet won the only Oscar of her career for this film. She did a terrific job as an actress. Down to every minute detail, The Reader is a near perfect film.
If you want to watch the film, then you must do so on Netflix India.
