Prime Video has dropped the teaser trailer for Season 2 of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”, created by J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay. The newest clip has plenty of spectacular visuals, breathtaking action, and all the main characters. However, there is one character that will catch everyone’s attention, Sauron (played by Charlie Vickers).
The latest teaser trailer unveils Sauron’s new look. Season 1 finale revealed that Halbrand was the Dark Lord Sauron himself. His intention was to rule the entire Middle-earth with Galadriel. He wanted her to join him as his Dark Queen. Later we saw her not telling Halbrand’s secret to Elrond and Celebrimbor. Instead, she encouraged them to make not two but three Rings of Power.
As per the official logline, Sauron will try to regain his strength and oversee the creation of Rings of Power in Season 2, enabling him to bend people’s will against his evil might. All races in Middle-earth, including men, orcs, Elves, dwarves, Harfoots, wizards, and more, will feel Sauron’s wrath.
The Rings of Power was a mammoth success for Prime Video in terms of audience viewership and critical reception. The show’s first two episodes were watched by over 25 million viewers in the first 24 hours of their release on the streaming platform. As for the critical reception, the show stands at a ‘fresh’ score of 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 489 reviews.
Season 2 of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ will feature the return of Charlie Vickers, Morfydd Clark, Markella Kavenagh, Robert Aramayo, Benjamin Walker, Nazanin Boniadi, Charles Edwards, and more. It will arrive on Prime Video on August 29. Stay tuned for more updates.
