Netflix has greenlighted a new show based on the writings of Agatha Christie. ‘The Seven Dials Mystery’ will be an original production of the platform and it is being written by Chris Chibnall. Chibnall is known for previously creating ‘Broadchurch’ and also running ‘Doctor Who’. The show will be having some big names in it. Martin Freeman and Helena Bonham Carter will be playing lead roles. And there has been a new addition to the show. Mia McKenna-Bruce will also be starring in a major role. Mia has previously starred in the popular show ‘How To Have Sex’ and her performance has gathered much appreciation from audiences and critics.
The show will be telling the story of a country house where a practical joke goes beyond measures and it turns into a horrifying crime. It is typical of Agatha Christie’s novels, a big country house with a rich and elite crowd, some terrible feuds going on in between them, and suddenly something goes wrong. An inquisitive and clumsy Lady Eileen Brent a.k.a Bundle will be solving the mystery. Brent is played by Mia McKenna-Bruce, while Helena Bonham and Martin Freeman play two other characters characters Lady Caterham and Superintendent Battle.
Chris Sweeney will be directing the show. Sweeney has previously directed projects like ‘The Tourist’, ‘Back to Life’. Hopefully, this one will be one more addition to Netflix’s wonderful oeuvre of literary adaptations. After ‘Ripley’, the expectations are higher now. Release date and further details will be revealed soon.
