Here is great news for the fans of Late Irrfan Khan as they will be able to witness his last act on the big screens. Irrfan’s film ‘Song Of The Scorpions’ will be having its theatrical release in India on the 28th of April this year.
‘Song Of The Scorpions’ is a joint venture of Swiss-French-Singaporean and Indian producers. It is directed by filmmaker Anup Singh. The film stars Golshifteh Farahani, Irrfan Khan, Waheeda Rehman and Shashank Arora in the lead roles.
The film is shot in Rajasthani language and it premiered in the Locarno Film Festival in 2017. The film has never been released in India, finally after so many years, Song Of The Scorpions is going to hit the theaters.
The film tells the story of Nooran, played by Golshifteh Farahani, who wants to be a scorpion singer like her grandmother. A scorpion singer, according to the myth of Jaisalmer and desert areas, is a singer who can sing to pacify the effect of the sting of a scorpion. After she is hit with a tragedy, she is proposed for a marriage by Aadam, played by Irrfan Khan. Irrfan Khan plays a camel trader in the movie and he has been in love with Nooran for a long time. The legendary Waheeda Rehman plays the grandmother of Nooran.
The cinematography is handled by Pietro Zuercher and Carlotta Holy-Steinemann and the visuals are really good. Béatrice Thiriet has composed the original score for the movie. A trailer has been released again and it has gathered pretty much views. The movie is not being promoted that well till now, but hopefully a lot of people will be going to the theaters to watch Irrfan Khan on the screens for one last time. The film will be released on the 28th of April.
