Amazon Prime Video has announced the release date of its upcoming series ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’. Based on Jenny Han’s best selling novel of the same name, ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 17th June, 2022.
According to Amazon Prime Video, ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ is a multigenerational drama that hinges on a love triangle between one girl and two brothers, the ever-evolving relationship between mothers and their children, and the enduring power of strong female friendship. It is a coming-of-age story about first love, first heartbreak, and the magic of that one perfect summer.
‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ stars Lola Tung, Jackie Chung, Rachel Blanchard, Christopher Briney , Gavin Casalegno, Sean Kaufman, Alfredo Narciso, Minnie Mills, Colin Ferguson and Tom Everett Scott.
The series is showrun by Jenny Han and Gabrielle Stanton. Han has also written the pilot episode and is the executive producer for the series alongside Stanton, Karen Rosenfelt, along with Hope Hartman, Mads Hansen, and Nne Ebong for wiip.
Jenny Han is known for best selling book series ‘To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before’ which has been adapted into movies by Netflix and we’re a global hit. Apart from ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’, Han is also executive producing and co-showrunnig Netflix’s ‘XO, Kitty’, a spinoff of the ‘To All The Boys’ franchise.
