Ironman actor Robert Downey Jr is returning to TV. Interestingly, the series is based on the Vietnam war which normally does not happen in the USA due to obvious reasons.
The TV show developed by HBO is based on an award-winning book by Viet Thanh Nguyen of the same name.
The main actors of the series are Hoa Xuande, Fred Nguyen Khan, Toan Le, Vy Le, and Alan Trong. All of them are of Vietnamese descent.
Regardless, the series is about a communist spy of half-French and half Vietnamese descent. It would tell his story of struggle in the final time of the war.
Before we go into the roles of the cast, mark that Robert Downey Jr is not leading the show. In fact, he would be seen playing multiple roles, all of which would be that of antagonists, thus representing various institutions of the USA.
The leading actor Xuande portrays “The Captain”. He would be a spy for North Vietnam residing in the refugee community in Los Angeles. Nguyen Khan portrays the friend of the captain. He knows his secret but still helps him for the sake of friendship.
The series is currently in production but it would take time to finally come to screens. Stay tuned for further updates.
