While Wes Anderson’s ‘Henry Sugar’ is making all the noise, Roald Dahl is getting more adaptations for Netflix, that too animated. Netflix has revealed the first look of ‘The Twits’ adaptation and it looks pretty nice.
It will be a movie and not a show and will come out in 2025. Oscar nominated filmmaker Phil Johnson is slated to direct the movie. He is known for films like ‘Ralph Breaks The Internet’. He will also be co-writing the movie, he has previously written ‘Zootopia’. Meg Favreau will co-write the script and Katie Shanahan and Todd Demong will serve as co-directors.
Netflix acquired the Roald Dahl story company in 2021 and therefore, there are these multiple adaptations from the bestselling author’s oeuvre. There will be an animated movie on Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, and an anthology of four short films with ‘The Wonderful Story Of Henry Sugar’.
The movie will tell the story of Mr. Twit and Mrs. Twit, who are unhygienic and disgusting and run an equally disgusting amusement park named Twitlandia. The two rise to power in their town and two brave children now have to be as tricky as the Twits in order to save the town from them. A magical family also helps them in the endeavour.
Phil Johnson has said that ‘The Twits’ had been his favourite movie since childhood and he wants to do justice to the story. The release dates and other details have not been revealed yet, but the movie will come out in 2025 and it may even have a limited theatrical run.
