One of Netflix’s most popular originals till date, “The Umbrella Academy” was already renewed for a third season and the latest news is that the superhero series has a premiere date set in July. The Streamer released two first-look images along with a teaser that announces the series-drop on June 22nd.
The Umbrella Academy on Netflix is based on the comic book series written by Gerard Way. The series revolves around adopted sibling superheroes in a dysfunctional family who decides to reunite to solve the mystery surrounding their father’s demise. While they’re at it, also to deal with the threat of an apocalypse.
Convinced that they’ve prevented the apocalypse dated 1963 and fixed their messed up timelines, the Umbrella Academy returns home to the present in season three. But sooner enough they realise things are not looking as good as they left them. We are then cut back to Sparrow Academy. Stylish and super-smart sparrows expectedly clash with the umbrellas. The Umbrellas got to deal with so many challenges their way while also healing from the losses along with an unidentified creature causing havoc in the universe. The umbrellas should now un-pack everything they’ve done and un-do every damage their arrival has possibly brought upon to the universe. Can the umbrellas get back to where they were before the apocalypse? Or does the timeline have more surprises to offer? We should wait and watch for the show to answer our questions.
Directed by Jeff F. King, the Umbrella Academy is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studios. The prominent cast of the show includes Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Colm Feore, Ritu Arya, Justin Cornwell, Britne Oldford, Jake Epstein, Genesis Rodriguez, Cazzie David and Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton.
