Though the name of the universe is definitely “The Walking Dead,” the growth of it is running, and that too, full of life as the franchise drops the trailer for its next spinoff, “The Ones Who Live.” In simpler terms, the trailer promises a dark journey ahead.
The trailer focuses on two characters, Rick and Michonne, as they try to deal with the reproductions of the remains. One is trying to head north, and the other is driven by revenge; the series isn’t just about survival right now.
The trailer reveals much about the psychology, a promising sign indeed.
“Why are you here? Do you want to kill, or do you want to die?” When asked, Rick replied, “Look in my eyes, sir. You tell me.” This change of discovering the scars and wounds of the characters and going even deeper is definitely a new change and a necessary one for the franchise.
The official logline of the show states:
“Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable power. By the ghosts of who they were. Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead … and ultimately, a war against the living.”
“Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike any they’ve ever known before? Are they enemies? Lovers? Victims? Victors? Without each other, are they even alive — or will they find that they, too, are the Walking Dead?”
The camera work looks phenomenal in the trailer, similar to any “Walking Dead” content, and the trailer did feature some strong dialogues and emotions.
Even one particular scene where Rick was pressing a bullet to his forehead or the closing moments where Michonne was running from a chemical attack looked promising.
The series will be premiering on February 25th, as fans welcomed it with open arms and paired it with a positive attitude.
