AMC has revealed that the production of the upcoming ‘The Walking Dead’ spin-off has begun. It stars Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira. The show’s official page released two behind-the-scenes to confirm the news on Twitter. Fans will see Lincoln’s Rick Grimes getting reunited with Gurira’s Michonne.
The spin-off will be a limited series, consisting of six episodes. The filming commenced in New Jersey last week.
The first image shows both actors holding hands with each other. And the second one displays a couple of chairs with the names ‘Michonne’ and ‘Rick’ on them. Here’s what the caption says: “Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira are back on set! The next chapter of Rick and Michonne’s story begins…”

Gurira has hailed the upcoming spin-off as a ‘prestige miniseries’. Also, she is serving as one of the show’s writers, partnering with Scott M. Gimple.
The original Walking Dead has come to an end. And Fear The Walking Dead will reach its conclusion soon. So, the fans can expect more spin-offs from the franchise in future. Apart from Rick and Michonne, Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) is also getting his own spin-off show. And the duo of Jeffery Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan will reprise their fan-favourite characters, Negan and Maggie, in the forthcoming ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City”.
