The first teaser for ‘The Watchers’ is out. The horror film premieres in theatres internationally on 5th June, 2024, and on 7th June in North America.
The Watchers comes from acclaimed filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan, who is the producer of the film. It is written and directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan, daughter of the auteur. The film is adapted from the 2021 gothic horror novel of the same name, written by A.M. Shine.
The film follows Mina, a 28-year-old artist, who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night. “You can’t see them, but they see everything” is the tagline of ‘The Watchers’
Dakota Fanning (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, The Equalizer 3) stars as Mina in The Watchers. Georgina Campbell, who headlined the superb Barbarian, along with Oliver Finnegan (Outlander) and Olwen Fouere (The North man, The Tourist) form the rest of the main cast.
The first teaser for The Watchers proves that debutant Ishana Night Shyamalan is a chip off the old block all right. The teaser looks campy and atmospheric, giving off purely creepy vibes the entire 2+ minutes of the teaser. Ishana had earlier helped M. Night Shyamalan direct parts of his Apple TV Plus series, ‘Servant’.
The Watchers is jointly produced by M. Night Shyamalan, Ashwin Rajan and Nimitt Mankad. Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute the film worldwide.
The Watchers releases in theatres worldwide on 5th June, 2024. Have a look at the first trailer for the film –
