Netflix is coming with a new drama series that will be starring Holt McCallany In the leading role. The series has been titled ‘The Waterfront’ and it is said to be inspired by true events.
The show will be telling the story of the Buckley family that has to stoop to desperate means in order to save their fishing business in North Carolina. Holt will be playing the role of Harlan Buckley, the man who built the business with his dad but went away from it eventually. He had confiscated some land illegally for the business and it seems that he has to pay for it now. Harlan loves whiskey and does not bother to change his lifestyle even after two heart attacks. When his son and wife take some stupid decisions to save their fishing empire, he has to come back and take charge in his own hands.
This indeed is a story of a complex man and we cannot tag him as a hero or a villain here. Colt McCallany has done a wonderful job in David Fincher’s ‘Mindhunter’ and if not with another season for the wonderful thriller series, at least he is returning to Netflix as the leading man with a show of his own. ‘The Waterfront’ is written and executive produced by Kevin Williamson. Williamson is known for the ‘Scream’ franchise and also films like ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’.
