The rich become more affluent, while the poor become poorer. How do the rich become so rich, and why are the poor so destitute? The White Tiger takes a look at the distinction between these classes and thus brings you the journey of a simple driver and his desire to reach the top.
The white tiger boasts of a star cast with Rajkumar Rao, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Adarsh Gourav playing the main leads. The trailer has been well accepted by the masses, and for once the English accent sounds authentic Indian rather than trying to overdo the part.
The story takes us on the journey of a driver who is seemingly happy with his boss, who treats him well. On the surface, everything seems to be fine and well, but a turn of events sees everything take a down spin as one can witness the extreme ends of the opposite spectrums where the rich stay in posh hotels with their drivers and servants while the poor cannot even afford a decent one-time meal.
The White Tiger is taken from the New York Times bestselling novel ‘The White Tiger’ written by Aravind Adiga, which chronicles the transformation of Balram, a driver who rises through the ranks.
Dialogues such as “I’m just one who has woken up while the rest of you are still sleeping.” Will give you literal chills and shed light upon what the psyche and how the predicament that he has gone through changes him forever.
The White Tiger will be available in select theatres in December and on Netflix in January.
