While we still know little to nothing about the next Christopher Nolan movie that is in works, the casting alone is giving us a certainty that it’s going to be huge. The cast already has A-listers like Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Anne Hathaway. And the list just keeps getting bigger. The late name that has joined the project is Lupita Nyong’o.
The actress was recently under the spotlight for her performance in DreamWorks The Wild Robot. Many are considering it to be the best animated movie of the year, while many call it the best project to come out of DreamWorks. The actress is also known for her immense screen presence in the Quiet Place franchise and the Black Panther movies in the MCU.
This means that Lupita is the third MCU person to join in on the new Nolan Universal movie. The movie will start shooting in early 2025 to meet its release date, which was announced to be June 17, 2026. The fans are stoked as to what the maestro behind Oppenheimer will bring next. Nolan has somehow mastered the art of not making the movie too crammed, even when the cast is full of the most recognizable faces from the industry. So it is understandable that the fans will expect a ton.
The last movie to come out of Universal and Nolan was the Oscar-winning Oppenheimer. Apart from the critical acclaim, it was a commercial giant at the box office, earning $975 million globally. Lupita herself is an Oscar-winning actress for her role in 12 Years a Slave.
