The Witcher was one of the breakout shows by Netflix last year and stayed on the top of Netflix’s chart in the earlier months of 2020. With positive critical response and a bumper public response, the show became a hit and was put on the course for season 2. Enter Coronavirus, a pandemic with the magnitude so high, that it shook the world. The world as we know came to a standstill.
With shootings for shows and movies halted to protect everyone, and contain the virus from spreading with lockdowns initiated everywhere, it was hard for several of the shows to get a kickstart. And The Witcher has been one of them.
Even after starting the production for season 2 in UK, The Witcher’s fortunes are not with it as a disappointing news comes from the camp where it has been revealed that 4 members of the crew has been tested positive for Coronavirus. While no one from the lead cast has been affected, Netflix is still taking proper protection and following all the necessary procedures.
Due to this, all the shootings have been put on a hold. This is the second pause in the shooting after March. The affected ones have been isolated and is under the care of Netflix which confirms that they’ll be alright.
The Witcher joins several of movies and shows in the list of halted productions this year due to Covid-19 scare.
