The World of OTT Provides Global Platform to the Unknown

OTT brings us a huge list of movies, dramas, series, documentaries that are so amazing at times that it leaves people speechless. Speechless enough for them to go on and win awards like the Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, Golden Globe and so many other prestigious film festival screenings and awards. Most of the time, these nominated ones are the ones that go unnoticed or people didn’t watch them enough. A nomination and an award at any of these award ceremonies brings them back into business as people want to know what made these movies win such big accolades.

Streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and Disney+ are churning out such amazing masterpieces that they are getting the proper recognition that they rightly deserve. One movie buff will immediately know if it’s worthy enough and this is the type of content they have been producing for some time now. Another benefit that these platforms are providing is by giving those unnoticed one a platform to stream. We have seen how “Parasite” caused a stir when it won the award and soon after it came up on Prime Video. It was one of the most watched movies for Prime Video at that time. Most of the times, some really good movies are left out during releases in theatres and this are the ones that recieve awards later. Though earlier this used to be an issue, it isn’t now. As the streaming platforms are sourcing content from various sectors and also giving chances to get many others produced, the issue is slowly starting to find a solution and a happy place in the world of OTT.

Besides these, the animation sector has been doing immensely well, especially for Netflix. As Netflix is bringing animated short movies into the limelight, all of them now seem to be great contenders for such great awards. The recent release “If Anything Happens I Love You” and the upcoming release “Canvas” much likely seem to be contenders for those big awards.

Content released in OTT platforms sometimes has no filter but these filter-less contents are the ones that get us the awards at times. OTT gives a type of freedom that regular releases can’t and also it helps to reach not just one or few countries but a massive amount of audience all over the globe.
