The Malayalam actor Dulquer salmaan reportedly faces ban from the Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK). The organisation has declared they will not cooperate with Dulquer Salmaan and also decides to impose a ban on him. An executive committee meeting was held today where they unanimously passed these decisions. With the ban existing the actor can’t release his films in theatres.
FEUOK also alleged that Dulquer Salmaan has cheated them. The upcoming movie ‘Salute’ was agreed to be a theatrical release but the movie later decided to join Sony liv for an OTT release. This made the FEUOK take such an action towards the actor. It is said that this decision by the association is taken as a warning to other actors to not indulge in these kinds of acts.
It was Dulquer Salmaan’s movie ‘Kurupp’s theatrical release after corona regulations which became the saviour of theatre owners. It is ironic how the saviour has now become the villain. And fans are saying that this is just another drama from the theatre owners against the OTT boom which happened recently in the film industry.
This is not the first time that FEUOK is imposing bans on actors. They have banned Fahad Fazil and Antony Perumbavoor for similar kind of reasons.
With these controversies on air ‘Salute’ will be streaming in Sony Liv on March 18 in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
