Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio

Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio premiered at this year’s BFI London Film Festival and received critical acclaim. It is a darker take on Carlo Collodi’s 1883 novel, based on the titular character. Pinocchio, an energetic and rowdy wooden puppet, is our protagonist. He dreams about becoming a real boy in 1930s Fascist Italy. And he gets what he wants. However, he turns into a mean and naughty boy after coming to life. Soon, he realises his mistake and starts understanding the true meaning of life.
Matilda the Musical
Streaming Release Date: December 25
This adaptation of Roald Dahl’s 1988 novel also premiered at this year’s LFF. It is the second film based on Matilda after Danny DeVito’s 1996 project. The upcoming musical will show our beloved and extraordinary protagonist taking on Miss Agatha Trunchbull, the infamous and nasty headmistress of Crunchem Hall Primary School. Apart from standing against Trunchbull’s misdeeds, Matilda tries to change her story and gains miraculous results.
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery
Streaming Release Date: December 23
The highly anticipated sequel to Knives Out (2019) has impressed critics. It currently stands on a 91% rating (based on 75 reviews) on Rotten Tomatoes. Billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) hosts a getaway party for his buddies on his private island. However, things go south after one of them turns up dead. And obviously, Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) takes the matter into his capable and skilled hands.
