It’s Sunday and we’re back with another binge-watch recommendation. This time, it’s a dark comedy Spanish anthology film titled ‘Wild Tales’. You can watch the movie in India on the Amazon Prime Video OTT platform, where it is currently streaming.
Helmed by Damian Szifron, ‘Wild Tales’ is a collection of six unrelated short stories which are united by common themes of revenge, rage, and violence. Here are the brief summaries of the six segments of the anthology. Viewers discretion is advised for this film, so watch as per prescribed age limit.
Segment ‘Pasternak’
The anthology’s opening segment ‘Pasternak’ aka ‘The Rats’ follows the passengers of an airplane who have one thing in common. They know a man named Gabriel Pasternak. Is this a coincidence or is there something more sinister?
Segment ‘Las ratas’
A waitress who works at a highway eatery gets the chance of a lifetime to exact revenge from a loan shark who was the cause of her family’s misery. Will she go to extreme lengths to get revenge or let the man go scot-free?
Segment ‘El mas fuerte’
The short story revolves around a well-to-do man, who gets into a fight with an aggressive driver of an old car because of an overtaking problem, leading to devastating consequences.
Segment ‘Bombita’
The story follows an explosives expert whose car gets towed despite no fault of his. The incident causes a chain reaction in his life which severely affects his personal relationships. How he explosively (literally) bounces back, forms the rest of the story.
Segment ‘La propuesta’
An affluent teenage boy hits a pregnant woman while driving a car and flees. Later, his parents try to find a way to unethically save their boy with the help of their legal counsel. But the situation turns more complicated than they had imagined.
Segment “Hasta que la muerte nos separe”
After discovering on her wedding day that her would-be husband had an affair with one of the party’s attractive guests, the bride confronts the groom and the woman, thereby leading to an embarrassing and an unexpected turn of events.
