Fans’ reception of Marvel’s Secret Invasion has been highly divisive so far. Many have praised the Samuel L.Jackson starrer for being darker and more mature than previous MCU shows. Though, some are not impressed with its slow pace and overall storyline. The show has only two episodes left, and a lot can happen in these episodes. They may even bring an underrated character into the limelight. We are talking about President Ritson (played by Dermot Mulroney).
In his recent conversation with TV Line, Mulroney discloses what is next for President Ritson in the upcoming episodes. He also hints about his reaction after discovering Rhodey’s true identity.
“I think Yoda said it best — “…anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.” Yeah, President Ritson is triggered by that to go extreme. If he can’t trust good ol’ James Rhodes, who can he trust? That’s really the divide for Ritson,” the actor said.
The first three episodes barely featured President Ritson. In the last episode, we saw Nick Fury and Talos the Skrull saving him from a lethal attack from Gravik and his followers. And we also witnessed Talos’ death at the hands of Gravik.
The remaining episodes may concentrate heavily on Ritson. We may witness him making sense of what is actually happening around him in these episodes.
On the other hand, we have Fury who is on his own now. Talos is dead and his daughter, G’iah, is yet to officially take Fury’s side in his battle against Gravik and the rest of the rebel Skrulls.
President Ritson has limited time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Harrison Ford’s Thunderbolt Ross will replace him as the US president in Captain America: Brave New World.
