The show follows a financial advisor Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman) who moves his family from Chicago to the lazy Lake of the Ozarks region of central Missouri after a money laundering scheme for a drug cartel goes wrong. He promises to make amends by offering to set up a bigger laundering operation there. But life isn’t going to be easy for the Byrdes in this new place where they get entangled with local criminals and much more.
