Imagine doing something that you are good at your while life, even coming back from retirement for that one single wish to make it big but it does not seem to go your way. That’s what Sanjay Mishra starrer ‘Har Kisse Ke Hisse: Kaamyaab’ is all about.
Directed by National Award winning filmmaker Hardik Mehta, who is known for his credits like ‘Trapped’, ‘Roohi’, ‘Paatal Lok’ and more, ‘Kaamyaab’ follows a retired side-actor who after a career of thankless credits returns for a long awaited leading role but finds he is utterly unprepared for new age filmmaking. He ultimately realises how futile it was on his part go out looking for that last role to make a record that barely matters. He ends up performing as a filler in his grandchild’s school’s annual day function but it gives him a satisfaction like none other.
‘Kaamyaab’ has cameos from a lot of such yesteryear side-actors who have also had such unnoticed and thankless acting careers themselves. The film very intricately shares their heartfelt journey but the narrative does not feel too emotion heavy. It’s light, subtle and funny but at the same time beautifully conveys the message. The performances in the film are as expected outstanding.
Though ‘Kaamyaab’ upon its theatrical release was appreciated by critics, it could not stand anywhere near commercial entertainer ‘Baaghi 3’ followed by closure of theatres due to COVID-19. It’s one of those light hearted feel good dramas that will make you emotional and stay in your hearts long after the credits roll.
