The title might seem confusing to many as we don’t always find thrill and comedy coming together. But the recommendation that we bring to you with this article does exactly that and does it pretty well.
We are talking about Prime Video’s ‘Patriot’ created by Steven Conrad. This light hearted drama follows John Tavner (Michael Dorman), a low-key CIA agent living a turbulent and complicated life trying to recover in Amsterdam after a traumatic mission. But he is soon sent on another important mission where he needs to preventing Iran from going nuclear. The assignment requires him to forgo all safety nets and assume a perilous non-official cover.
The series centres around John’s misadventures and has a smart and unique plotline, amazing performances and is of a kind that leaves a memorable impact.
‘Patriot’ is executive produced by show creator Steven Conrad (The Weatherman, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Pursuit of Happyness), who also writes and directs the series. It stars Michael Dorman, Kurtwood Smith and Michael Chernus in prominent roles.
