Remember Hannah Baker from Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why? Of course you do! That character is the reason behind her popularity today and she deserves every bit of it. Katherine Langford is back with another show, ‘Cursed‘ on Netflix, premiering on 17th July. It is based on a novel of the same name and tells the story of King Arthur (played by Devon Terrell) but there’s a twist! The story is flipped and is from Nimue’s (Katherine) perspective. Arthur was the one who retrieves the sword but in ‘Cursed’, it’s her who ends up with the sword called Excalibur. Nimue is destined to become the Lady of the Lake.
“13 Reasons Why was my first role and something that I’m so grateful for. And obviously to have that great relationship with Netflix is such a happy coincidence, as they’re the ones who are also responsible for this story as well,” said Katherine to an entertainment channel. Talking about her upcoming project, she said, “I think this particular project is so special to me, in the sense that it really feels like it’s different to anything I’ve done before. And it also feels like I’m telling a different story, in the sense that it’s kind of matured and grown in a way, which I feel I also have as a person. We really see Nimue go from being this young woman to an adult, really coming into her womanhood. And I think that’s a story or a journey that often isn’t told, or we don’t see much of it.”
Katherine, after exit from ‘13 Reasons Why,’ focused on other roles before opting for the lead role in a Netflix original as Nimue. She was seen in movies like ‘Love Simon’ in 2018 and ‘Knives Out’ in 2019.
