All The Light We Cannot See is more popular for a novel than a Netflix series in development. This war novel written by Anthony Doerr is a very fine example of a beautifully written love story.
The story revolves around a 16 year old blind girl Marie-Laure LeBlank from France. It is set during the period of the Second World War when France was occupied by Germany. Her father is called Daniel LeBlanc who is a master locksmith at a museum in Paris. He loves his daughter immensely and tries to give her all the independence she deserves. At the same time, he doesn’t skip any possibility of protecting her.
But a German soldier crosses paths with her and they find themselves falling in love with each other.
To adorn this beautiful love story, Mark Ruffalo and Hugh Laurie have joined Aria Mia Loberti in the upcoming Netflix series.
It will be a limited mini-series having 4 episodes only. Loberti is a newcomer who herself is unable to see.
Needless to say, Mark Ruffalo played the character of mega-popular Marvel Superhero “Hulk” in many movies.
He is set to play Daniel LeBlanc, Marie’s father.
Hugh Laurie will play Etienne LeBlanc who was a soldier in World War I and suffered from PTSD.
Regardless, All The Light We Cannot See is an exceptionally tender story and it will be a huge challenge for the makers to portray it on screen with the same tenderness.
