Globally acclaimed Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’ has been the undisputed champ on streaming charts across the globe including the previous Nielsen’s top ten streaming titles. However, as per the latest Nielsen’s weekly overall top ten streaming chart, another Netflix series has finally put an end to the winning streak of ‘Stranger Things’. In fact, by not one but two Netflix titles. We are talking about the Netflix fantasy series ‘The Sandman’ and Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg’s action-adventure movie ‘Uncharted’.
As per the latest streaming stats from Nielsen, ‘The Sandman’ has generated around an impressive 1.4 billion minutes of viewing in the top ten overall list on Nielsen (for Aug 8-14 week). ‘The Sandman’ is closely followed by ‘The Uncharted’, which boasts of around 1.2 billion minutes of viewing. On the other hand, ‘Stranger Things’ has clocked a still impressive 1.1 billion minutes of viewing as per Nielsen’s top ten list.
Other streaming titles on the Nielsen top 10 list include the Netflix action-comedy film ‘Day Shift’ (982 million minutes), Netflix fantasy horror series ‘Locke & Key’ (919 million minutes), and the Disney+ animated sci-fi action-adventure flick ‘Lightyear’ (700 million minutes), etc. Out of the overall Nielsen top 10 streaming titles, eight titles are on Netflix while the remaining two are streaming on the Disney+ OTT platform.
Based on Neil Gaiman’s comic book of the same name, the fantasy drama series ‘The Sandman’ follows the story of the king of Dreams – Dream / Morpheus (Tom Sturridge), who escapes from his more than 100 years of captivity and makes it his mission to reclaim what was lost to him and to regain his power.
