Bollywood actor Sayani Gupta is all set to make her debut in the Bengali film industry with national award winning director Koushik Ganguly’s next. The film is titled ‘Asukh Bishukh’ and it will be a social satire. Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Ishaa Saha, and Ankush will be seen in the film as well. Sayani will play the female lead against Parambrata.
Actor and singer Anjan Dutta was roped in to play an important role but later he walked out of the project. Koushik Ganguly himself will play the role that Anjan was supposed to play and his son Ujaan Ganguly, who recently starred in ‘Lokkhi Chele’, will be behind the camera when Koushik Ganguly shoots his scenes.
The shooting started on June 12 and soon it will be released in the theaters. Koushik’s ‘Ardhangini’ got raving reviews and wide reception from audiences and it is still running in the theaters.
The music of Asukh Bishukh will be composed by Indraadip Dasgupta and the screenplay is written by Ujaan and Koushik together. The fanbase of Koushik and team is growing day by day and looks like ‘Asukh Bishukh’ will be another feather in the cap for the National Award winning director.
The film will be a commentary on the problems that a common man faces in the hospitals and medical institutions and there will be a tinge of humor. As the filmmaker is known for delivering beautiful stories on serious subjects and grave matters, there is much anticipation for the film. Koushik’s tribute to Mrinal Sen ‘Palaan’ too will be released soon enough and there is huge buzz around it.
