Australian actress and producer Margot Robbie broke the international box office with her billion-dollar-generating live-action movie ‘Barbie’ last year. Riding that high, she’s been in the news multiple times for the plethora of accolades the film has garnered.
And now, she is back in the columns again. This time around, she’ll be playing the protagonist at the heart of the comic-book adaptation of Cathy Christian and Rob Liefeld’s demon-fighting fallen angel ‘Avengelyne’. ‘Deadpool’ co-creator Liefeld first brought the comic book character to life in 1995.
According to previous announcements, American actress, director, and producer Olivia Wilde will direct the feature, following the success of her controversial title ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ starring Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Chris Pine, and Gemma Chan.
Robbie is set to join the project as the titular heroine alongside Tony McNamara, the BAFTA-winning script writer whose latest venture was penning the script for the Academy-award-winning film ‘Poor Things’.
Warner Bros is in talks to bag rights for the film that follows the beautiful titular redhead as she navigates life on Earth as a mortal and contends with the forces of Hell after being disgraced from Heaven. She is entrusted with finding and protecting The One, a person who is the key to protecting humanity from demons and other monsters!
