Ted Lesso fame, Phil Dunster, is the latest addition to Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s Apple TV+ series, Surface. The English actor is best known for portraying the character of striker Jamie Tartt in Jason Sudeikis’ Emmy-winning sports comedy-drama. According to Deadline, he will play an essential supporting character in Surface Season 2.
Surface debuted on the streaming service last July and received mixed critical reception, with praises directed to Mbatha-Raw’s eye-catching performance. However, the series suffered from a messy plot.
The show revolves around Sophie (Mbatha-Raw), who survives a dangerous suicide attempt and loses all her recent memories. She even forgets why she tried to attempt suicide in the first place and tries to discover the reasons that forced her to commit such a miserable act.
Sophie is a renowned medical professional, residing in a posh locality of San Francisco. Everything was going fine in her life. Out of nowhere, she decides to end her life by jumping from a boat into an ocean. Why? Watch the show to find out more about this Sherlockian mystery.
