This Thrilling OTT Film On 1967 Indo-China War Couldn’t Have Come At A Better Time

A books-to-film agency, The Story Ink has obtained the rights for Probal Dasgupta’s ‘Watershed 1967: India’s Forgotten Victory over China’ a book on the 1967 Indo-China war at the Sikkim border.

The story traces the historic conflict of 1967 where India won the battle against China in the heights of Cho La and Nathu La at the Sikkim Border, 5 years after losing the battle of ’62. It showcases the bravery and historic triumph of the Indian army and entails interviews of various army heads and soldiers who fought in that war.

It is a film that couldn’t have come at a better time with the current turbulent relations between India and China. It’s bound to give the audience a sense of pride and respect for all those fought in the war as well as shed light on some of the finer details about the battle that they may not be aware of.

They are in early talks with various directors and streaming platforms for the production of the film.

The Story Ink is collaborating with Vikram Lamba, who produced The Kid in 2019, and Ravi Walia, who produced Bhopal in 2013 for this project.

The Story Ink which was established in 2018 is India’s first story company that acquires adaptation rights of various books and sells them to production houses by connecting with the right filmmakers and producers. It has closed at least 100 adaptation deals in the last two years.
