Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘The Gray Man’, ‘Gossip Girl’, ‘In The Scoop: Friendcation’, and ‘Run the World’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up for release. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on Indian OTT platforms from this week.
Street Food: USA (Streaming on Netflix from 24th July)
The food documentary series will take the audience to the streets of six USA cities namely Los Angeles, Portland, Oregon, New York City, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Miami. The series would showcase the makers of the delectable American street food and feedback from some of their customers.
Licorice Pizza (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 25th July)
Helmed by Paul Thomas Anderson, the comedy drama movie revolves around the romantic relationship between a photographer’s assistant Alana Kane (Alana Haim) and high school student Gary Valentine (Cooper Hoffman). Set amidst the backdrop of 1970s San Fernando Valley, the film also features Sean Penn and Bradley Cooper in interesting roles.
Cyrano (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 25th July)
Based on Erica Schmidt’s stage musical of the same name and directed by Joe Wright, ‘Cyrano’ is a love triangle which features ‘Game of Thrones’ actor Peter Dinklage as the titular dwarf Erica Schmidt. He fails to profess his love for the beautiful Roxanne as he is too conscious about his physical appearance. When Cyrano learns that Roxanne is instead infatuated with a man named Christian, he helps the latter through his writing skills to make Roxanne fall in love with Christian.
La Unidad (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 26th July)
The Spanish police thriller series revolves around how members of an elite anti-terrorist police unit headed by commissioner Carla Torres (Nathalie Poza) work towards averting a deadly Jihadist terrorist attack in Spain.
Adamas (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 27th July)
It’s a South Korean series which revolves around twin brothers – the successful writer Ha Woo-shin and the prosecutor Song Soo-hyun (played by Ji Sung). They learn that their biological father has been wrongly accused of the murder of their stepfather, who was killed 22 years ago. With their biological father facing a death sentence, the brothers race against time and investigate the truth behind the mystery.
The Most Hated Man on the Internet (Streaming on Netflix from 27th July)
The three-part docuseries focuses on a woman’s persistent quest to bring down Hunter Moore, the sadistic owner of an infamous website in order to get the photos of her daughter removed from the portal.
Dream Home Makeover Season 3 (Streaming on Netflix from 27th July)
The reality web series gives a sneak peek into the lives of Shea and Syd McGee’s of Studio McGee and their endeavours to renovate homes of real families as per their customized preferences.
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season-3 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 27th July)
Inspired by the High School Musical movie series, the mockumentary musical drama show revolves around a group of students at East High and how they deal with romance, friendship, and relationships. The show’s third season would take us to the Camp Shallow Lake, a summer theatre camp in California.
Keep Breathing (Streaming on Netflix from 28th July)
The six-part survival drama series revolves around the desperate efforts of a brilliant attorney Liv (Melissa Barrera), the only survivor of a plane which crashes into the Canadian wilderness. Now, she must battle the elements and her own personal demons to get out of the impossible situation alive.
Big Mouth (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 29th July)
The Korean crime drama show revolves around an unsuccessful and talkative lawyer Park Chang-Ho aka Big Mouth (Lee Jong-Suk), whose life takes an adverse turn after he is suspected to be the genius con artist Big Mouse. He gets support form his wife Go Mi-Ho (Lim Yoon-A), who tries to overturn the wrong accusation against her husband.
Purple Hearts (Streaming on Netflix from 29th July)
Based on Tess Wakefield’s book of the same name, the romantic drama movie follows the story of a budding singer Cassie (Sofia Carson) and a marine with a dark past Luke (Nicholas Galitzine). They duo agrees for a marriage of convenience which can take care of Cassie’s medical expenses and an increased paycheck for Luke. But after an incident, their fake marital relationship takes a more profound shape.
Uncoupled (Streaming on Netflix from 29th July)
The eight-part comedy drama series features Neil Patrick Harris as a gay real estate broker in his 40s whose perfectly happy life is shattered when he suddenly gets dumped by his long-time lover after 17 years of relationship.
Paper Girls (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 29th July)
Based on the comic book series of the same name, the sci-fi show follows the adventures of a group of four twelve-year-old girls who encounter time travellers while delivering newspapers in the year 1988. While travelling the different timelines, they meet different versions of themselves and get a chance to change the future.
